The Dev-Team which released the YellowsnOw for the 2.0 OS of the iPhone has come up with the revamped version of Yellowsn0w which works for the 3.0 OS and called the ultrasnOw(To be released in near future)
The Release works only on the 2nd Generation and 1st Generation iPhones and the 3G as this is only the Pawnage tool and ” UltrasnOw ” is Released.
Pawnage Tool works On:
- SIM Free/SP Unlocked/Factory Unlocked iPhone 3G
- iPhone 2G (1st Generation)
- iPod Touch 1G (Original iPod Touch)
Pawnage Tool Does not work for:
- iPod Touch 2G (New iPod Touch).
- 3G iPhone’s which rely on yellowsnOw to obtain cellular service.
It is clearly stated in the Official site that:
“PwnageTool will NOT work for the iPhone 3GS”
This is only the release of the Pawnage tool for the MAc OS X and not the QuickPwn thing, the QuickPwn for MAc OSX and Windows will follow soon.

How to Download UltrasnOw:
- First of all make sure you have upgraded to iPhone OS 3.0
- Jailbreak your iPhone 3G using redsn0w or PwnageTool (this will also install Cydia/Icy)
- Run Cydia or Icy
- Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia or icy
- Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in cydia or icy and install ultrasn0w
- Reboot your iPhone 3G
- Then Enjoy the Unlocked iPhone 3G
You are incorrect. Ultrasnow will work with all 3G iphones currently using yellowsnow for cellular service. It will not work with the the 3Gs
I am not saying it, you can see what is given in the official Dev-team blog-
“GOLDEN RULE: If you are using a 3G iPhone with yellowsn0w and rely on yellowsn0w to obtain cellular service, then you should NOT use PwnageTool right now. UltraSn0w is not included with this release and therefore your baseband will be locked and unable to use an operator other than the official one it was bought for”

Yes that is correct but you are mis quoting the site, they are referring to redsnow, not ultra
Do you even know what ultrasn0w does? If you do, why would you need to use it on an iPod Touch? ultrasn0w UNLOCKS IPHONES, it does not jailbreak them. you cannot unlock an ipod touch.
also, the other poster was right. ultrasn0w will work with ALL IPHONE 3G models. the dev team said what you posted above because ultrasn0w has NOT BEEN RELEASED YET.
